IT’S CLUB MEMBERSHIP REGISTRAION TIME AGAIN!

Thanks for all your help and support in making 2012-2013 a successful season. We were able to sponsor a successful Desert Ice 2012 competition as well as a number of USFSA test sessions. We thank you for your participation in fundraising events and volunteering to help with the Desert Ice competition.  

As a small club we are not able to offer all the activities of a larger club, and, therefore, the Board has decided to reduce our membership fees for next year. At present, we are able to manage club funds, hold monthly meetings, conduct fundraising efforts, and organize the Desert Ice competition and USFSA test sessions. We would welcome any volunteers who would like to organize club social events and encourage voting members to please consider serving on the Skating Club Board.

Membership for the US Figure Skating Association is from July 1^st to June 30^th. I would like to have our memberships to USFSA no later than June 20. To accomplish this please have your membership applications to me no later than June 15. Please mail the form and payment to me at the address listed on the membership form, hand deliver, or deliver the to the Skating Club of Nevada mailbox located inside the Pro Shop, behind the counter. Registration for membership is not available on line.

Please ensure that you include the following:

1)    Skating Club of Nevada membership form (one for each registration)

2)    Waiver

3)    Check made out to the Skating Club of Nevada (NOT to USFSA Figure Skating)

Remember, for $90 you receive one first family membership as well as a membership for a parent or guardian of Junior members. Additional parents and children are $40 each. Membership with the Skating Club of Nevada includes a USFSA membership.

·      Enables a skater to participate in USFSA activities including competitions and tests.

·      Skating members are covered with a sports accident insurance policy (visit USFSA.org for specifics).

·       USFSA skating members receive a subscription to Skating Magazine.

We are looking forward to a successful skating season! Please keep in mind ways that you may be able to volunteer for club activities and the 2013 Desert Ice competition. We always welcome your input and support!

      Well folks...it sure was an INCREDIBLE weekend here at Desert Ice 2012. Everyone skated superbly!! We hope you all enjoyed yourselves at the competition, even with the real FRIGID temps we had throughout the two days, in the rink! (of all places;-D)

We would like to extend our congratulations to EVERYONE who competed. The ability to get out on that sheet of ice and share your passion for this sport is an accomplishment in and of itself so....BRAVA! BRAVO! We would like to extend our appreciation to every single member of the Skating Club of Nevada, the parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, and of course the skaters and coaches for the generosity of your time, efforts, and food/snack/drinks donations. It wouldn't have been successful without your help (especially at the last minute!). Thank you to the USFS Officials who gave of their time! We so appreciate you for being a part of our annual event! A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Ice Occasions for the FABULOUS ice sculpture, and all the out of town vendors & local businesses who so generously supplied services & donated to the club/event! We also would like to once again thank Vassili Mourzine, and the staff and crew of the Las Vegas Ice Center for supporting this club event every year! All of the "behind the scenes" people, thank you for helping make it possible for all our skaters to have the opportunity to share their passion.
